Native American Warriors proved their bravery and overall bad-assery by enemy warrior with the hand, bow, or with a coup stick then escaping unharmed.

Any who succeeded in counting coup wore eagle feathers in their hair as a show of their prowess. Warriors injured in their escape wore feathers painted red.
